BRESCIA, MILANO Italy — 01 September 2026 — Tilog Automation S.r.l., a logistics technology provider based in Brescia, has partnered with identifAI, an Italian deepfake and synthetic-media detection company, to add real-time image authenticity verification to TIMS, Tilog Automation's document and data management platform.
The integration addresses a growing problem in regulated supply chains: compliance decisions — from hygiene checks to product handling standards — increasingly rely on photographic evidence submitted from outside the warehouse, and that evidence isn't always what it appears to be.
Warehouses that handle food, pharmaceuticals, or medical devices routinely require proof that a vehicle's cargo area is clean and fit for transport. While photos taken on-site by warehouse staff are reliable, images submitted in advance by external carriers are not: many are archive shots reused across multiple deliveries, taken with smartphones whose built-in "beautification" features can automatically smooth out or remove visible dirt and damage.
The consequence is costly. A vehicle can be represented as clean in an advance photo, only to be turned away on arrival once its actual condition is inspected — triggering delays, demurrage costs, and friction with transport partners. The compliance record that was supposed to exist before the vehicle even reached the dock effectively does not.
With identifAI's technology now integrated into TIMS, every image submitted through the platform is analyzed using image forensics to detect signs of AI generation or manipulation. The system returns a real-time authenticity score and an "original vs. altered" signal without retaining the underlying image data. Photos that fall below a set confidence threshold are flagged for a new photo or a stricter on-site inspection.
Tilog Automation is deploying the capability first in its own food-sector warehouses before extending it to clients, reflecting the company's "numbers first, technology second" approach to adopting new tools.

The real issue is trust in image data. A flawlessly organized archive built on a fake photo is still, at its core, a false record — no amount of downstream data management can correct for evidence that wasn't genuine to begin with.
This is a solution born in the field, not in a lab: Tilog Automation is deploying it first inside its own warehouses before offering it to clients, in line with its "numbers first, technology second" philosophy.
The capability is also horizontal by design — while it launches in food safety, the same verification logic extends to pharmaceutical, chemical, and medical device logistics, or any regulated setting where a photo is used to certify the condition of a vehicle or a good.
And finally, this is a clear technology partnership, not a blurred one: TIMS is Tilog Automation's platform, and image authenticity detection is identifAI's technology — the two should always be attributed correctly and separately.
While the initial use case is food safety — governed in the EU by Regulation (EC) 852/2004, which requires vehicle loading areas and containers to be kept clean and well maintained, alongside traceability rules under Regulation (EC) 178/2002 — the same verification layer applies to any regulated supply chain where a photo is used to certify the state of a vehicle or good. That includes pharmaceutical distribution, governed by the EU Good Distribution Practice guidelines (2013/C 343/01) and, in Italy, Legislative Decree 219/2006, as well as medical device logistics under EU Regulation 2017/745 (MDR), which requires manufacturers to ensure devices remain uncompromised throughout storage and transport.
The verification layer is designed to support, not replace, human judgment: on-site inspection at the loading dock remains the final check. Its role is to restore confidence in the photographic evidence collected before a vehicle ever arrives.
